Some of us grew up in the South and I'm one of the old ones, north Alabama, not far from Nashville and certainly a stone's throw from the Tennessee line. I went to a Methodist church college and would ride back to north Alabama with a guy studying the ministry who was extremely handsy with me and had that same look these Tennessee Republicans have from 1961 all the way to now. It was obvious where he thought females should be early on , much less any rights for them, and forget about where Black people should be. I bet these guys are exactly like him, all privilegy and all that. Yuck. Still makes me want to slap them.

Our NC Democratic Governor was knifed in the back by a legislator switching to the Republican Party giving them a super majority. First thing they accomplished with that was to override his veto on a gun law requiring a permit. Now anyone can buy a gun - no permit, no qualifications of any kind. Gun sales are rocketing. This is NOT making republicans look as good as they think. I hope it blows up in their faces. Seeing that happen in other states gives me hope.
