I didn't want to go down the rabbit hole of 'aren't all prostate cancers slow growing,' which is the basis the Republican accusations of a cover-up. they're not, but I'm not a doctor and didn't want to fuck up the explanation. here's a thread for anyone interested: https://www.threads.com/@carpe.dewitt/post/DJ2u5dYuU2a

Well I am a retired doc and there are different grades and stages of Prostate Cancer. Some last longer than the patient will. Some move rapidly. And some evade the blood test (PSA-Negative Prostate Cancer). There are no absolutes in a cancer diagnosis. and I would thank Imbecile J. tRump Sr. and Jr. to shut the fuck up.

Coming from a family with generations of men with prostate cancer, whether they're in a wait-and-see mode or whether they're actively treating, it doesn't affect their ability to carry on. No doubt, there are thousands of men in responsible positions in and out of government who aren't stopping while they treat or monitor this cancer. Besides, the same Republicans screaming about "cover-ups" of Joe's issues would scream even louder if his vice-president (the scary Black lady) had stepped in for him.

Had Joe Biden been hiding this diagnosis and delaying treatment,

1) Delay would be life-shortening. Why would he do that, especially after dropping out of the race in July 2024, delaying treatment ten months until May 2025? Makes no sense.

2) If he already had this diagnosis in hand, Biden could have used distraction as an explanation for his poor debate performance. He didn’t - because he most certainly had yet to be diagnosed

From what I've heard (and family experience), the most common prostate cancers are slow growing... with treatment. President Biden is apparently suffering from a rarer, more aggressive form that moves fast and is less likely to respond to treatment. Sometimes there is little that can be done, even with medical advances. The GOP seems to be hammering at this because as a DOCTOR they feel Jill Biden should somehow magically know this. They seem confused about the fact that her doctorate is in Education, not Medicine. And really, even if she was a medical doctor, expecting her to magically pick up on something showing few signs is unreasonable. MAGA just desperately wants to throw the entire Biden family in jail, for reasons I just don't understand.
