it's the fucking guns, you fucking fucks
two charming stories of senseless gun death came out of Texas this weekend
it was just another ordinary weekend in America, by which I mean a shitload of innocent people lost their lives at the hands of gun-crazed morons.
the horror that caught everyone’s attention happened down in Cleveland, Texas, where some lout took his AR-15 out into his yard and started spraying hundreds of bullets into the air, just as the authors of the Second Amendment intended.
after a few hours of enduring the noise, his neighbors asked, could you please be quiet? we have an infant here trying to sleep.
and so Dipshit McBulletspray did what any patriotic freedom-loving American would do: he shot them all dead.
how’s that? is that quiet enough for you now?
just as the visionary authors of the Second Amendment intended.
of course as always happens, the worst people in the world slithered out from under their flat rocks to assure everyone that guns were not the problem.
“it wasn’t the guns. it was that he was drunk.”
with all the respect owed to you, fuck you. America isn’t the only country with drunken morons, but it is the only country where drunken morons have easy access to military-grade weapons that spew death.
“it wasn’t the guns. it was that he was on meth.”
again, fuck you. America isn’t the only country with drug users, but it is the only country where drug users have easy access to military-grade weapons that spew death.
then, a rumor started that the shooter was an undocumented immigrant, and all fucking hell broke loose. this was all that every racist idiot needed to start screaming at the tops of their lungs.
“oh, it’s one of those people. what do you expect from those people.”
once again, and I cannot put too fine a point on this, fuck you. it doesn’t matter who this guy was or where he came from, he did what he did because he had easy access to military-grade weapons that spew death.
Texas’s shithole Governor, Greg Abbott, had to make things worse, labeling the victims “illegal immigrants.”
you could hear the wheels turning inside every racist asshole’s head:
“you see? it was those people’s own fault. if they’d stayed in their own county this would never have happened. when will those people learn?”
but that wasn’t the only charming story of senseless gun death to come out of Texas this weekend.
29-year-old Eric Aguirre pulled up in front of a Houston restaurant, handed the parking attendant forty bucks, and took his date inside.
that’s when he found out that the “parking attendant” wasn’t a parking attendant at all. he was a scam artist, and Eric was too fucking dumb to avoid being scammed.
so Aguirre did what any rational person would do in that situation. he politely excused himself from the table and went outside and pulled out his gun and shot the scammer dead. and then he sauntered back into the restaurant to continue his date.
all perfectly normal, and exactly just as the authors of the Second Amendment intended.
“it wasn’t the guns, it was that he got scammed.”
holy shit.
I’m sorry, am I on crazy pills? hey all you Constitutional scholars out there, please point to the passage in the Second Amendment that says it’s totally cool to kill the fuck out of someone just because you’re too fucking dim to recognize that you’re falling for the one of the most obvious scams in the world.
because I’m pretty fucking sure that such behavior is the exact fucking opposite of a well-regulated militia.
while the horrors of the weekend were still fresh in everyone’s minds, Nikki Haley released this photo:
Nikki Fucking Haley. 20 years from now, Nikki Haley is going to be a trivia question that no one will remember the answer to: “this woman ran for president in 2024.”
but there she was, doing what every Republican candidate is now obligated to do, snuggling up to the biggest fucking gun she could find.
Jesus wept.
in the aftermath of 9/11, the Bush Administration routinely violated the Constitutional rights of ordinary Americans, in the name of fighting the so-called War on Terror. “the U.S. Constitution is not a suicide pact” was the excuse they kept feeding us.
well you know what? if the U.S. Constitution is not a suicide pact, that goes double for the Second Amendment, which the last time I looked, is part of the U.S. Constitution.
stop this insanity.
enough of this bullshit.
gun control now.
Thanks, man. I’m too angry to add anything more. Too sad.
Let's be crystal clear about Nikki Haley: When she was the governor of SC, her state, year in and year out, had the highest rate of domestic violence homicides in the country. Five years in a row. She called violence against women a "special interest issue" and wouldn't address it until SC got lots of negative press. Now she's running for president, and this one of her campaign photographs? I'm not at all surprised.
In July of 2002, Alan Gates went to the home of his ESTRANGED wife, Janet (she'd done the "right thing" and filed an order of protection against him) and waited for her to return home. His daughter Valerie and her friend Cordae stopped by with Cordae's 2-year old son. They were on their way to take him to a movie.
Gates herded them into the back bedroom and executed them one by one with his beloved .357. He then went into the bedroom, laid down, and went to sleep.
When Janet returned home, she saw his vehicle and called the sheriffs department. They sent deputies to her home to escort her inside. When they got in there, they found Gates and placed him under arrest for the restraining order violation. Janet walked into the back bedroom and found her daughter, Cordae and little Kendall, murdered in cold blood by Alan Gates. Obscene brutality.
At the sentencing hearing (Gates got 3 life sentences). the judge asked him if he had anything to say. He said, "You never can tell what one woman can drive a man to do."
A year later, one of Kendall's grandmothers, Fran Bumgarner, asked me to go with her to the DAs office to look at the crime scene photographs. She wanted to make sure Kendall was with his mom when he died.
I looked at them first. Fran wanted me to determine what photos she saw. She didn't see many of them. A two-year old doesn't stand a chance against a madman with a gun, but hey, according to the NRA/Republicans, I guess Kendall should have been packing heat on his way to the children's movie. I wonder what kind of gun they would recommend for a 2-year old?
We are way off the cliff. The bodies of people victimized by gun violence pile up day in and day out. Maniacs who have nothing to rely on intellectually, but who are told by the pro-gun freaks to just let their guns do the talking for them, are slaughtering people across the country every day.
The Republicans don't give two shits about the carnage, the suffering, and the heartache. They fetishize--in the extreme--guns and refuse to hear FACTS. Gun violence is much worse in red states. It's not even close.
The issue I've devoted my life to--addressing and trying to stop violence against women and children--is very overrepresented in the gun violence nightmare. In fact, domestic violence is the core issue in the majority of mass shootings/murders, but that connection is often not made.
Ask any "pro-life" politician which means more to them: the 2nd Amendment or keeping women and children safe. They'll ALWAYS wax rhapsodic about guns, and dismiss the threat of domestic violence as (like Nikki Haley did) a "special interest issue."
I think the pro-gun crowd should be forced to look at the bloodshed they've worked so hard to guarantee. They should see what it looks like when someone shoots a child with a weapon of mass destruction. I'd be willing to bet they don't have the balls to do it.
The Texas shooter landed in the right country. It matters not one fig whether or not he (or the victims) were "legal" residents. What matters is that he wanted to use his AR to make a statement. Texas was happy to supply him with his deadly megaphone.
