THIS is what we need to hear...every day! "-this is how we win!"

FTrump And FPutin Too's avatar

Same! A close friend who reads

Uncle Jeff called me to discuss before I got here! So now they’re blaming Pete Buttigieg because … he controls military flights? Distract, destroy and pillage is Maga cause.

shee-rah's avatar

When bad things happen, he blames the Dems. When good things happen due to policies created by a Dem Congress and President, he takes credit.

Wait, really? They're trying to blame Pete? I know they are complete fucking morons but that makes no sense even for them.

This cycle of Trump implodes things, Democratic lawyers and AGs rush in with suits, courts--as the adults know they need to put hold on DTs juvenile moves that are illegal and not governing, has to step in and put a stop to this.

Of course right now DT has released his brownshirts from prison, and they will have to serve as his militia until he figures out how he can co-opt the military as his enforcement of anything he wants to.

Might be time for We the People to be planning to figure out at which red line they are going to march in front of the capitol until Trump is impeached and imprisoned for being the traitorous criminal he is.

Here is a link to the General Strike, a plan to shut down things so that the government has to listen to demands. They need 11 mil, and so far have about 150,000 committed to doing this. https://generalstrikeus.com/

It is hoped to work on the principal that the Women's Strike in Iceland worked in 1975. https://youtu.be/e9OsIj32w7U?si=CRA4fz29p_oIouA6

What we need to do is stop trying to fix everything and let Trump face a real disaster that he can't bullshit his way out of. Getting the MAGAts to turn on him is the only way to stop him. Do-gooders have only made him worse.

Linda Weide's avatar

MAGA may be incapable of turning on him, just like an addict will end up in the gutter and dead before they let go of a habit. We should not be the victims of Trump junkies. Help comes for those who help themselves.

Ethereal Fairy's avatar

Yes, that's the first thing Florida republicans do. We had a local hate-preacher the developers got elected as a County Commissioner, he was stupid, venal and incompetent. When they realized he would not get reelected, they had Deathsantis stuff him in a Secretary of elections. Even though the retiring guy's assistant has 20 years of being second banana and was well qualified. In short, he asked for millions of dollars, and got it, and spent a lot of it renting an office in the swanky part of town and furnishing it to the hilt. He got ousted in the election, now the county is stuck with all his unnecessary expenditures.

Not a one. Between IQ challenged fuckface getting rid of thousands of FAA employees including two high ranking officials and Smuk heading DOGE, Death of Government Efficiency, we're already knee deep in their cesspool of destruction. With this air disaster being blamed on Buttigieg, DEI hires and whoever these assholes will continue to blame, it's hard to think that these mass staff losses

Yes. I'm worried about McShillbilly lurking in the wings.

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

You’re right to be concerned Cheri!!

Neal Stiffelman's avatar

Agree that it’s at best a roulette wheel of possibilities and that there doesn’t seem to be a timeline of the universe in which you could have a worse clump of protoplasm in every single freakin’ category. Just take the golfing subset — he cheats, he fakes championships, takes the cart where it’s forbidden, rages at local authorities should they try to follow the laws, buried his wife there to get the tax break, DJs the hall, feels up any unfortunate newlywed, plays much too much and at tremendous expense for added fucking security and even charges secret service for rooms — and that’s not even 1% of the awfulness that oozes out of very pore, sinks up the room, and then we have to live downwind.

Clint Opine's avatar

You know right now Trump and Company are desperately searching for any sign one of the pilots, or the air traffic controller, is female, a minority, or gay so they can have their narrative.

Major Kong's avatar

Trump does realize he's President now, doesn't he? He's ultimately responsible.

When a Navy cruiser accidentally shot down an F-18 in the last days of the Biden administration, the wingnuts were all screaming how DEI has destroyed our military - never mind that a cruiser of the same class accidently shot down an Iranian Airbus during the reign of St. Ronald of Reagan, Peace and Blessings Upon Him. That shootdown led to the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103.

Hannah's avatar

Ah, the good ole days.

Opening the Pandora’s box there good!

Suzn Sez's avatar

You're referring to the USS Vincennes fiasco? My brother was on that ship. Seeing dead bodies floating in the water turned him (temporarily) into a Jesus freak overnight.

Also, it'd take far more than just the presidency to get Trump to ever admit responsibility for anything (besides the positive accomplishments of others, that is).

Lisa K. Obrien's avatar

One of trump’s very first acts was to fire the commandant of the Coast Guard, the first woman to head up a branch of the military. According to him, she was a DEI hire.

shee-rah's avatar

So, according to Dumbass, anyone who is not a white male is a DEI hire.

Teri's avatar

Lisa, CF fired the Coast Guard commandant, a woman, as "she's a DEI hire". Last night, though, the men & women of the CG were on the crash scene, immediately launching boats to look for survivors. Thanks to the CG for showing us they're Americans first, no WH dumb fuckery will change their respect for their mission.

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

Lisa K. Obrien's avatar

My husband and I (as an unpaid employee 😄) served in the Coast Guard for 23 years. Good outfit. Proud to have served.

Susan Travis's avatar

Sadly correct 😔 🥺😢

Linda Fulcher's avatar

It's been reported that one of the two pilots of the helicopter was a woman. Wait for the pigs to start squealing about that. It also seems that the air traffic controller was doing the job of two people. We can thank the Feral Hog's hiring freeze for that.

Steve in SoCal's avatar

Or maybe a member of DCA's janitorial staff

Thanks for that info. I'm one of those constituents who bombarded my senators about the fucknuttery King Fuckface has engaged in with his minions. If anyone else wants to be civically engaged the switchboard # for Congress is 202-224-3121. You will get an AI generated voice just say the name of your senator or congressional rep. Those of us that have been paying attention knew Chump was going to govern by executive order because he can't govern. It's government by fiat.

Bethie U's avatar

"Government by fiat" can also be known as a royal decree (by King Fuckface I). He really wants a crown and scepter. He already has the golden throne.

So under Donnie we're not safe flying. We soon will not be able to eat chicken or eggs. The price of fruits and vegetables will be out of reach unless you are making 6 figures. Healthcare, medicare and Social Security will go bye-bye. Most of us will be living in cardboard boxes or tent cities.

Are we great again yet? Cause I'm worn out with all of the greatness that has occurred in the last 10 days.

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

Knowing Guantanamo prisons have 30k of beds waiting for immigrants, that sounds about right Dana!!

Hannah's avatar

The thing is, they don't have the beds. Or the staff. Or the infrastructure. It's another one of those orders of no substance.

Teri's avatar

Patrick, no, CF cannot use GITMO. That's where I want to see him. Imprisoned with terrorists. 30k beds? That sounds ominous.

Hannah's avatar

There are very few inmates left. A couple dozen that I know of. He wants to use gitmo for immigrants who he arrests. Wants room for 30K, but there isn't room, so we'll see.

arne link's avatar

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

We all die let’s do it with honor!

Teri's avatar

Linda, I am starting my new indoor grow of micro greens. My spring buys of flowers will now include veggies & fruit.

Linda McCaughey's avatar

Wish we could post photos--I use veggies as ornamentals in my front yard garden--spectacular! No one can believe that everything I grow is food. No turf grass in my yard....nothing eats that stuff.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

I planted ground covers in both front and back yards. No mowing or maintenance, almost no storm water run-off, and very attractive.

Teri's avatar

Linda, oh YES, veggies are great in the yard! A neighbor had 6-8 tall planters. Loved watching them grow was fun.

One big planter full of bright red peppers.

FTrump And FPutin Too's avatar

Me too! But too much heat last 2 summers have been brutaI. I had to bring delicate herbs inside but they didn’t thrive. I want to grow tomatoes again. My husband and I can no longer do gardening due to physical issues. We have a yard crew every week for maintenance, thank goodness.

Linda McCaughey's avatar

Condolences. When I can no longer garden, I hope someone wheels me out and plants me next to the tomatoes and beets and okra--good fertilizer!!

Cheryl ODonnell's avatar

Chris Ortolano's avatar

I often watch the ATC You Tube channel and others; the controllers are always asking pilots to confirm that they have visual contact with other aircraft - especially when they are on approach.

trump, as usual, is a fucking idiot.

Steve in SoCal's avatar

DCA's main rwy runs N-S, but yesterday's crash was on the short rwy at a 45-degree angle to the river. Combine that with nighttime flying, a super-busy airport with the busiest rwy, and a copter on a training flight, and it was a disaster waiting to happen.

Nancy Potter's avatar

NPR was saying that ATC asked the helicopter if it saw the plane, and the answer was yes. However, there were two planes in close proximity and the question may be whether the helicopter pilot and ATC were talking about the same plane. OK, now I'm going to stop speculating.

Fastball Fredo's avatar

Jeff, as we all predicted this crew is using the Project 2025 to arbitrarily launch this attack on our federal government. “Golf with MAGAs” this week… golf was fine, low score, won $$, and no political talk until lunch. I learned that Kash Patel is going to reign in the FBI, deep state u know.

What really blew me away were MAGAS sitting next to our table. As they stated that “ this was Trumps America now and everyone must get with the program… no dissent or we will deport you. What is good for America is good for the world and you have to accept it” WTF? Approached by MAGA at my gym yesterday, he said “winning, winning, how much more can we get” I merely said…. Why are you quoting the Hitler Youth? Are you a Nazi or wannabe Nazi? He just walked away…. Best to all.

Charles Austin's avatar

Sounds like you're playing well. It warmed up here,(Columbus Ohio) and I got to hit some balls yesterday. I've got the itch! I plan to have MAGAts pay for my Substacks.😆😆😆

Fastball Fredo's avatar

You know Dave, that when u are in a cult, surrounded by MAGA news, these guys just loose focus, loose any knowledge of history, loose any knowledge of what former Democratic presidents accomplished to improve the daily life of ordinary folks, mention how much they will enjoy paying more for prescriptions or insulin and I get a blank stare, like they just shit in their pants and don’t believe what I just explained to them…

Lisa K. Obrien's avatar

What is surprising to me is the childlike glee that these grown (and aging) men take from harming others. They call it ‘winning’. I don’t know why this still shocks me. I guess I thought that most people would have grown out of bullying by the time they hit their 50s…

The EPA and many others might disagree with your statement Darrel, this cosmic blue spinning ball is speaking loudly about the dangers humanity poses to humanity!!

Darrell Smith's avatar

That is a good read but I differ. Empathy is one requirement for intelligence. Others build the Teslas and operate SpaceX. Others wipe Trump's ass. Self sufficiency is one requirement for intelligence. Can a person dress, feed, and care for themselves?

Money does not buy intelligence. A child in Alabama may be the most intelligent person in America by IQ right now. They will need empathy and self-sufficience to be truly intelligent. Warm blooded animals show more and more intelligence. Perhaps a Doctor can write a paper about how the level of intelligence in all life forms on earth has increased through evolution and human interaction.

Linda McCaughey's avatar

Must disagree on a couple of statements. 1): "Self sufficiency is one requirement for intelligence. Can a person dress, feed, and care for themselves?"

Do you imagine Stephen Hawking to be unintelligent, for example?

2): On empathy: The multitude of arrogant tech geniuses who have zero empathy for most of the rest of us who don't share their grasp of technology.

Teri's avatar

Darrell, I didn't see a single word about Emotional Intelligence.

Darrell Smith's avatar

Emotional intelligence would encompass empathy I believe. I was thinking of those people (including myself) who have lots of life experience and reject Trump World. America and our lives could be much better. If that is "woke" so be it.

The White House is saying the freeze is back on. They are in disarray. Theirs is an anti-social mental disorder: psychopathy. I did not have to tell you they are sick, damaged mentally in childhood and adolescence. The common lexicon is critical to marshal and reinvigorate a team opposed to the carnage we face. We must all do better to speak and to reinforce with the same phrases and slogans. My main point is that we face a common foe of psychopathic neo-fascists. These have an anti-social mental disorder, hence the cruelty. I have worked hard to promote the correct name for our foe: psychopathic neo-fascists. Thom Hartmann made a strong marketing point this morning. Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. If we want to gather and convince our voters of the value offered in our candidate and the platform, we must market with skill, integrity, and unified voices driving home the benefits that we envision and that we promise. Our hardest task before us is the need to rouse the DNC. I do not think it exists in reality, but is a virtual cloud. I believe it needs reconstruction to be a real organization, not some myth that vacuums up people’s change. I have tried for a week to contact someone there. No luck. What do you think? https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/i-will-call-the-dnc-today?r=3m1bs
