Pam Bondi is going to dunk those files in a bucket of bleach. That said, roughly 1,000 FBI and DOJ personnel have already seen them. Information will leak like the plumbing in a Trump apartment. I'm looking forward to real prosecutions with Bondi, Miller, Bonvino, Noem and the whole rotten cabal at the Defendant's table.

- Epstein Estate

- Maxwell

- Survivors

- FBI Agents who did redacting

- Guiffre’s ghost writer…

I think we will see the files...all of them. Eventually. To your point, there are plenty of outlets. BUT.

Jay Kuo says: The “Epstein Files” isn’t some centralized database. They comprise a host of electronic and physical evidence collected by the FBI, held under seal by the courts, used in civil proceedings, and held by third parties. The core investigative files, gathered by the FBI, are subject to strict chain-of-custody controls, meaning they have electronic timestamps, evidentiary IDs, digital authentications and audit trails. That’s very hard to mess with, at least not without someone noticing.

I don't know. I do think we need some progressive young blood in the Senate, but Fetterman has unfortunately given everybody a fit of cynicism and doubt. Too bad.

I'm a bit frosted that Schumer talked Janet Mills (Governor who will be termed out in 2026 (and no relation btw)) into running for the Senate, because while she's done a decent job as Governor, I don't think her centrist views are what we need to get us past Trump and his destructive authoritarian bullshit. I was wondering that same thing. Surely someone in the Democratic party is keeping list of all the laws that have been broken under this administration. It's gonna be one helluva impeachment too. If the old fuck even lives that long.

My gov (Pritzker) formed a special committee to record every video, interview, photo, of every I.C.E. Violation. Pritzker has a law degree. He’s prepping for international court.

I agree, I don't think it means what we think it means either. Our republic has already been taken way out into uncharted waters. The Nuremberg trials were unprecedented for their time, whatever comes now will be equally so.

There will be everything you say, and more. What there won't be is any finality of "once and for all". The pressure will not suddenly dissipate when Bondi, not exactly chock-full of credibility now, announces some lame-ass excuse for not releasing the files. And the 'files' still grow. The job of documenting their *current* atrocities is already well underway by citizen-sleuths and reporters. Record everything. Some of it will pay off in the future.

See, their whole formula for success was predicated on a solid belief that they could bulldoze past every law and institution (public and private) in their way, distract and intimidate the American people with their 'might', and successfully reign for a Thousand Year Reich. That scenario seems to not be playing out quite as they planned. They may or may not remember that even Hitler's Reich lasted only 12 years. This one is sputtering and may not see one or two.

The next administration has a fine line to walk. We can't let 'throw the other party in jail' become the norm for every succeeding administration. But, we can't let actual crimes go unpunished.

Republicans won't be charged by a Republican AG and they'll yell partisan bias if charged by a Democratic AG. The new AG has to make it clear that the DOJ doesn't take party affiliation into account for any reason. The fear of what will happen when the other party comes into power has kept the kinds of things we're seeing now mostly in check. We've got to reestablish that fear going forward while making it clear that we are following the rule of law.

“Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response:

A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.

Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.

Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.

There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.
