"Iranian media says tanker exploded after hitting Hormuz mine"

oh. huh.

What bs. Iran said it has never intervened in the war between Ukraine and Russia. Supplying drones and missiles to Russia is the very definition.🙄

HI2thDoc's avatar

The Iranians lie almost as often as Preznit Piggy.

Susan P Thatcher's avatar

Yeah, but ai'm more inclined to believe them.

Doug Wright's avatar

I KNOW...sad that that's where we are.

Stephen Schiff's avatar

In other news the Ukrainians have offered to provide concrete evidence that the Russians are providing Iran with targeting intelligence. But so far in response, . . . (crickets)

HI2thDoc's avatar

Of course Jabba the Dump does not want it said that his handler Putin is helping the Iranians kick his ass. This info has already been seen, however, months ago, with very little press fanfare.

This is from March 7, a week after he started this not-war war:

Sold out by sycophant Don

The conman who fell for a con

He kowtowed to Pooty

By kissing his booty

Now Pooty is helping Iran

“Jabba the Dump.” Jeff and these comments. LOL. Love it here.

AuntTeeFa's avatar

The Sundays were all over the war not war. If only the cooler heads would prevail, but they don’t happen to have an R in front of their name.

rlritt's avatar

They all make money on their corporate military investments.

AuntTeeFa's avatar

True. Most are on the gravy train, that’s the real premise behind going over there to ca$h in with the military industrial complex.

But point was that Rs have absolutely zero diplomatic inclination or ability, and if a real estate developer and slimy in law are the best they can do for negotiations. We’re gonna be there for years.

Stephen Schiff's avatar

Guess maybe we shouldn'ta got rid of them minesweepers. Huh?

HI2thDoc's avatar

Too bad the Strait of Hormuz

Ain't filled instead with booze

'Cuz then Pissdrunk Pete

Would think it's neat

To try an oil tanker cruise

Martha Howell's avatar

We are being led by idiots. Years after the Ukraine war escalated into a drone fest, we're still being surprised when they are successfully used against us. Army bases without reinforced roofs, straits shut down by teenagers with joysticks. Hey, our ALLY could have taught us to expect this, if we had the humility to listen. Maybe all that testosterone is preventing any part but the little head from thinking.

And This... headline in French newspaper Le Figuro--

Ce que l’on sait de l’attentat terroriste islamiste qui a fait un mort et 29 blessés lors de la marche des fiertés à Berlin

That's probably going to cause trouble in the Straits of Schrödinger!

Miselle's avatar

Well, at this point, I'd sure like Obama to go to Iran and negotiate a peace settlement. I don't know why Trump doesn't go for it; it's a win-win for him. Peace comes, and he's outta hot water; Obama fails then Trump has another thing to gloat about!

rlritt's avatar

I really think Trump is mentally impaired. He is 80 years old and obese. He can't even stay awake during meetings. He is incapable of having a serious meeting with foreign leaders.

Susan P Thatcher's avatar

For years, he's had the vocabulary of a fourth grader. He's an idle rich, but unserious person. He never strove for greatness, merely called press conferences to proclaim he was great.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

You have a press dinner with 700 people there who hate you. What are you going to do?

A) Give speech that shows you're not such a cretin as they think?

Or

B) Fall asleep several times?

Clint Opine's avatar

When he can't dominate and control a situation or storm out in a tantrum he falls asleep. I've noticed that since his New York fraud trial. It's a defense mechanism for someone who can't handle adversity.

HH Mohr's avatar

Or maybe he's closing his eyes because if he can't see it, it isn't there!

Pam Humphrey's avatar

That’s a really good point!

Miselle's avatar

I'm in 100% agreement.

Leu2500's avatar

He doesn't know how to negotiate.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

He doesn't know how to do anything except whine and praise himself.

Pam Humphrey's avatar

Ain’t that the truth?!?

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Obama would never have started this war just to prove what a big, strong, war-fighting man he is.

john augustine's avatar

or how large the orange lips are on Israels butt

Maggie&Lefty's avatar

That’s a trans-action Trump would never attempt for fear…

Hollie Rood's avatar

That’s a BIGLY LOSE LOSE for 🍊🤡🐖y. Based on his experience, I ‘m pretty sure Obama could negotiate an actual bona fide agreement which would cause a meltdown from 🐖y, the likes of which have never seen before. As for 🐖y negotiating? Well , that might bring some comic relief along with high anxiety levels for how much he would mess it up while blaming Biden.

Maggie&Lefty's avatar

High Anxiety and It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World 🤣

Frank's avatar

If Obama hadn’t roasted Trump in 2011, would the malignant choad ever run for president? And to be honest, Obama is too much to the middle of the road for my tastes at this point.

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

I campaigned for Obama wearing out my shoes. I was very disappointed in him as prez. The whole Obama thing. He got the position enjoyed the glamour. Didn’t step out on the limb and commit. Didn’t dig into the time and issues. Just fluff and very safe.

A real leader does it. Personal comfort aside. Like him or not, MLK was a leader. Didn’t pansy or worry about his own $ safety. He knew his time was limited as to his safety and he did as much as one person can do

No I wouldn’t want to lose my life either but if you were black and born into the times I have seen for blacks, how much is your life worth? Frederic Douglas Harriet Tubman and all the blacks born into a life of constraints poverty told you were filth, denied the basic building blocks taken for granted by whites.

And all the thousands of blacks who have lived in our country.

The only thing that brings change is uncomfortable sacrificing dedicated well planned and most of all coming up against opposition.

If we as a country want all skin types to be Americans, then we need to live that. Not support a bunch of verbiage that is useless. Vote for a kind of good useless bag of wind. Demand our representatives talk in understandable language demand real reform.

It is not that hard.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Republicans from the first day vowed to undermine him and never work with him on anything. This wasn't about his "safety," it was about trying to get something done for people in an atmosphere of total resistance and sabotage. He was too busy working hard to defend against that and get things done anyway to "enjoy the glamor." (And I have to say to my ears. that statement recalls the constant Republican attacks on him ever enjoying any of the perks of the office because — you could hear it in their tone — Black people don't deserve it.) Also, "verbiage" is important — in fact I see a couple of candidates for 2028 we're infatuated with based almost entirely on "verbiage." But to say Obama did nothing more than talk is just a nicer variation on the "lazy watermelon-eating" or or "welfare mothers popping out kids for checks" narratives we've been infested with for too long.

I wonder if you are too young to remember the process by which Obamacare — a really significant achievement — was fought for well over a year, despite opposition in his OWN party (such as Joe Lieberman, whom I will never forgive, killing the public option because of his wife's lobbying gigs with hospital and pharmaceutical corporations). And STILL the GOP took endless votes to kill it, which Trump has now essentially done by killing premium support.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

That Mitch McConnell quote. . .

Joyce's avatar

"Thousands of blacks who have lived in our country"? WTF? Never mind the absurd miscount--what the actual fuck gives with "lived in OUR country"?!

Jayme Wolworth's avatar

We also need to consider the GOP Congress faught him every step of the way and never let him accomplish anything. Mitch McConnell and the Tea Party ruined any chances we had during the O administration.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Exactly. McConnell said at the very beginning that his one and only goal was to make Obama a one-term president, no matter what it took.

One of OUR biggest shortcomings is demand instant miracles from our leaders and elected and then abandoning and attacking them when they can't perform them. Republicans are patient; we throw up our hands and eat our own. THAT is the key to their success.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

They're only not admitting Mitch in dead now because the Devil won't allow him into Hell. Trying to find somewhere that WILL take him. . .

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Obama's biggest mistake was not campaigning like hell in 2010 when Republicans not only picked up seats in Congress but in state legislatures that would subsequently do the redistricting after the census.

john augustine's avatar

I believe BO soft pedaled policies fearful of what happened to MLK and others.....had to be in back of his mind

john augustine's avatar

can't blame BO for the typical light comedy of these events for decades.....blame the idiot muricans

Susan P Thatcher's avatar

He won't do it again.

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

Trump is a joke. Not a funny one. Why do we tolerate him?

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

Every single reporter that attended should have ALL stood up and said “what the fuck is wrong with you?!” AMEN! Yes-needed the Claudia photos after reading that! ❤️

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

Cheri Collins's avatar

Maybe Jonestown Kool Aid for certain presidents . . .

I was so glad to see that Lucian Truscott mentioned Jeff in his latest column. A well-deserved shout-out to my favorite Substacker who has never given up the campaign for some - any - reporter to ask "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Donald knows he bombed. He knows his winning streak is done. So much losing. Sad! That saiid, if reporters don't want to be insulted to their faces, they shouldn't invite the piss baby.

Same. His grandfather, Lucian Truscott Jr., was a top tier general in the Second World War, and one of only two people (the other was Alexander "Sandy" Patch) to command at the division, field army, and corps levels.

rlritt's avatar

See, I dont think he knows that at all. I think he completely lacks self awareness, and believes he is king of all he sees. He is such a narcissist that all sees when he looks at people is his own face reflected in their eyes. That's why he falls asleep when people stop talking about him.

Ann Anderson's avatar

There are a lot of interesting discussions about that on YouTube from medical professionals. Here's a good one. Trump's pre-frontal cortex is melting, that accounts for daytime sleeping, verbal incontinence, raging, etc. His filters are gone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X3Bwbh8lww

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

He's going to be all limbic brain all the time, with the front matter gone. We should now be turning up the heat to 10 on Republicans to pack him off on that Qatari Flying Bordello to finish his days at Mar-a-Lago. I have zero tolerance for 2.5 more years of his shit.

HI2thDoc's avatar

Plus he's a decrepit old codger. Where's all the talk about his age and his physical condition being a sack of poop stuffed into a suit? When all we heard about Joe Biden was "he's old, he's old, he's old?"

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

Trump never had a winning streak.

Ann Anderson's avatar

Huh? I'd say getting to the WH twice and not being in jail for multiple offenses is a whole lot of winning. Not to mention how much $ he's made this year alone.

Joanne Rossmassler Fritz's avatar

He definitely wins the award for Biggest Grifter.

2Cats2Furious's avatar

I’m definitely tired of Donnie winning (the presidency).

rlritt's avatar

Thats why he is such a big baby. He was the least intelligent Trump child and did everything his father told him. When he took over, property owners and lending banks thought he was his father and threw money at him, but he was terrible and cost lenders millions, but they had to keep bankrolling him if they had any hope to recoup. Then he got lucky and got a TV show. That made him a household name. That's the only reason he was elected. What was the movie where the theme was "the only thing real is TV, If you're not in TV, you're nothing.? (Im paraphrasing.)

HI2thDoc's avatar

That and his POS sociopath father poured all his malfeasance into creating the monster that DonOld is. Oldest son Fred Jr. (Mary's father) did not possess the requisite lack of character or empathy and wanted to be an airline pilot, so Fred Sr. focused his energy on his second son. Rot in hell, Fred Sr. and Mary Anne.

Susan Niemann's avatar

It's all so embarrassing, petty, and wasteful. And what will KKKarolines behavior be like tomorrow at her little press briefing? Will she chastise the press for being mean to her orange daddy? Will America EVER come to its senses? It's a nightmare.

LOVE to see Claudia and her friends...such happy pitcures! 💙

Dana Jae Labrecque's avatar

I reached out to an old friend who is an amazing musician and writer. I started with, “I hope you’re doing well in this horror timeline we’re living in.” I love his one-line response to that part of the email and have made it into an acronym we can all use:

OFTTAH

“Oh Fuck, These Times Are Hard.” (He didn’t write every word in caps. I find it useful to sell the acronym.)

Susan Jane's avatar

Bumper stickers needed now! It sounds very close to the American-Scandinavian "Uff-da." It can mean essentially the same thing, but OFTTAH is even more to the point.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uff_da

Susan Niemann's avatar

BRAVO. It says it all in the most succinct manner!

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

Does America have senses? I think that is the problem. How many really agonize over the injustices we see daily and in our past? Does our populace REALLY see injustices to people with especially blacks as immoral? Or is it oh well. There are always problems. They probably deserve it.

How many say let’s pass this law and follow it with iron tight enforcement because the status quo is immoral.

Take the two recent murders committed because the crime was going to work while having brown skin.

Susan Niemann's avatar

Agree whole heartedly. Society in America is in decline. I hate to say that because of course there are many good people... but as has been said, er are not angry enough.

The lack of care and concern for each other, the extreme racism, is contributing to our demise.

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

Backbone. Really caring. Knowing that if we don’t come up against this seriously, we and all those marginalized are destined to live horrid lives. Here is America land of the free. For some.

Butch's avatar

I think it was the Post that described the assorted self-important stenographers as sitting in "stunned silence." Have they never heard him speak before? What did they think he was going to say? The correspondent's dinner ranks right up there with the Met Gala in combining irrelevance and offensiveness.

Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

They probably thought that (1) a staffer would write the speech, and (2) Trump would stick to the script. Muwahahaha . . .

Linda Morway's avatar

I agree. They should have walked out. They should not have invited him in the first place.

Lucinda Abra's avatar

Just finished vacuuming and mopping the floors. Sure wish I could scrub this whole criminal, fascist regime out of our shared reality. There's a site that displays how many more anger inducing days are left. Disheartening, there are 908 left!

The more positive news is that there are far fewer days till midterms: 99. Those aren't bottles of beer on the wall, folks. This is when we, the people, start turning this dangerous travesty around.

Of course he shit on the Correspondents' Dinner. That loaded diaper has got to spill over somewhere, and Mel is nowhere to be seen. Of course, neither is the East Wing.

Seeing Trump’s face when hearing the description of the WSJ award was fabulous, but my jaw dropped when I saw the WSJ reporters smiling shaking Trump’s hand when receiving their awards. WTF, indeed. (No, I didn’t watch that whole charade, I saw a clip)

rlritt's avatar

What can he do? He has bosses he has to report to.

To call that a speech is one hell of a reach

To see the neckgina first thing in the morning, all up close and everything has ruined my breakfast plan. I think I’ll go straight to the mimosas.
