so, something I didn't care to write about in my post, but am curious about.

yesterday, Sporky went on CNN and said "I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics."

https://www.threads.com/@aaron.rupar/post/DRHvidLiQ5C

do we believe her? do we forgive her?

(me, I'm a hard 'nah' on both questions)

Alexandria was NOT there, but her staff was and frightened by this crazy person banging on the door yelling at them! Greene 'somehow' was allowed to wander around showing - on camera, Individuals' names, their offices - all while spewing the NASTIEST bullshit! David was a SURVIVOR of the Parkland School Shooting...had lain on the floor watching his classmates die, so began speaking out about their murders vis-a-vis gun control which caused Greene to single HIM out as her target. He had JUST TURNED 18! She screamed at him in the street about 'how dare HE get an audience with Congress while SHE - 'a business owner and taxpayer could not get an audience with them'. It was only after this that she ran in an UNOPPOSED district for Congress, and of course got elected since no one else's name was on the fucking ballot! She severely traumatized David Hogg for no reason whatsoever I was just beginning to feel a wee bit sorry for her, pondering whether or not she too might have been a 'survivor', but remembering this VILE behaviour brings it all back and removes all doubt. She's monstrous!

I thought Legal Blondi concocted an official memo saying there's noone in those Epstein files except Epstein? And now there are pedo Dems in there that need investigating? It comes down to what *he* believes (at the moment). With his about-face on ordering the DOJ to release all the Files, he's telegraphing that he trusts the competence and thoroughness of his stooges to scrub them thoroughly enough that no thread back to him remains. It doesn't matter if they do it with redactions or just fraud, hundreds of people have gone through the material, so far. The truth is coming out. He's just trying to buy time.

Expand full comment
Joyce's avatar

Yeah--I figured that today's sudden demand to have the Epstein Files released means that they've been thoroughly altered and edited, so the release will prove every bit of the survivors' stories are "Democrat" hoaxes.

Expand full comment
George in Atlanta's avatar

Sure. But that's what he believes, it's not necessarily the case. There's a lot of documentation there, and the journalists going through it will be many times more dedicated and competent that the nitwits selected by Trump for their loyalty. Things will slip through, either through being missed or being called out by 'anonymous sources' when they see it's missing. People will begin coming forward who we haven't heard from before.

I hope your assumption is correct. I fear the big black sharpie was hard at work all weekend long. And I surmise that holy Mike Johnson was told to scrub the files of references to trumpet the liar in chief.

Expand full comment
George in Atlanta's avatar

Actually, my point is that I'm not *making* any assumptions. We don't know what we don't know. With information this volatile, maybe, just maybe, somebody found it expedient to make copies? Photos? Videos? Audio bugs? Extemporaneous notes?

Just a very minor episode indicates the scope and scale of what's there: something in the briefing she got fucked up Nancy Mace all to hell. And that was for a cleared briefing. And Nancy, like all of us, *still* doesn't know what she doesn't know.

Humans are capable of a lot of things. Keeping secrets is not one.

As was demonstrated with the Jimmy Kimmel affair, there is only one way to respond to sell-out media companies: BOYCOTT. Seriously, show your outrage. 60 Minutes was an institution. Now it’s gutted. This was the home of Ed Murrow and Walter Cronkite, for Christs sake. Colbert has been a brilliant successor to David Letterman. Now CBS Fox Lite. All because one nepo-oligarch wanted a fat check from a right-wing tech oligarch, who made the network a new toy for his son.

Seriously, after all that CBS/Paramount/SkyDick has done to degrade and corrupt CBS, they deserve a permanent boycott of all their media offerings, including sports and streaming content.

I agree. Trump moved on the Epstein issue as he’s trying to cover the internal insurrection. Trump has gotten by with lying, making stuff up his whole life. It’s disconcerting for him when even Marjorie Taylor Greene no longer buys what he’s selling.

I’m sorry, call me a deviant(I’m 74 year old woman)but I think the full Epstein files will tell as disgusting a story as it’s possible to imagine. Trump raped children, he invested in trafficking, money laundering&God know what the pictures show.

I’m not saying there are no Democrats involved. I think the common denominators are wealth&power, not political ties

I grew up on a small farm in the Midwest where we raised beef cattle, and I literally just had a conversation with my 81 yo dad yesterday about beef prices. He said that the recent spike in prices was largely weather-related, because wildfires and such destroyed a lot of grazing land. So, climate change! Also, because beef prices are so high right now, a lot of cattle farmers/ranchers are choosing to sell more heifers for slaughter, which will reduce the supply of cattle in the future (heifers are girl cattle who haven’t given birth; generally speaking, both heifers and steers (boy cattle that have been castrated) are sold for slaughter somewhere between 1 1/2 - 2 years old, when they are fully grown but not yet too old to the point that beef gets too tough, and also you don’t want to keep expending resources to feed them). Bottom line, if more heifers are being sold for beef, then they aren’t becoming cows who turn out a calf every year. Supply then decreases, raising prices.

Dad did say that there’s been a screw-worm infestation in Mexico, which has resulted in bans on imported beef from Mexico, which has contributed to higher beef prices. But it’s not the case that undocumented immigrants are “bringing” diseased cattle with them. Without proper fencing, cattle will migrate all on their own, because they don’t understand or care about concepts like “borders” - they just go where the grass is.

And this has been your TED Talk from 2Cats about why beef prices have really gone up. 😺😺

Bessent. He simply must pen a children’s book about the amazing tale of South American cattle dragging their migrant humans north to the land of White Male freedom.

Just two days ago, that ass-kissing Congressman from Texas, Troy Nehls, posted on the Nazi Bar that he was voting “No” to release the “Epstein Hoax” (his words) documents. Now that his Leader has reversed course, any bets on how Nehls will vote?
