I made three dumb errors in yesterday's post. I called Iran Iraq, I called Doug Ford Doug Jones, and I typed out 750,000,000,000 when I meant 750,000,000.

ugh!

thank you to the hundreds of people who emailed corrections to me. getting that many emails every time I fuck something up is a powerful incentive to not make any mistakes in the first place. I'm not being sarcastic

Jeff, Yesterday was a piece of shit. Ego-Bloated AssGoblin bottomed out, and we lost Dolly Parton.

Dolly Parton told FoxNews FartCloud no. Twice. Turned down his Medal of Freedom, turned down the statue — and hours after she died, the flags at his house came down like he had some fucking claim on her. He doesn't. She spent sixty years saying love is love while this administration rigged trials to throw trans people out of the service, stripped our history off museum walls, and let its Secretary of War call us a slur at a truck plant to applause. They'll eulogize a woman they'd have legislated against.

And while the Cheeto Cock Caesar plays grief counselor, look at his goddamn numbers. Thirty-three percent. Down fourteen from the forty-seven he opened with. Disapproval sixty-five and climbing. This Foghorn FuckTrumpet answers every collapsing poll the same way — find somebody smaller and point. Nixon hit twenty-four and resigned. This one'll keep digging until he finds a number nobody's had to print. She declined his medal. The country's declining him now.

Im tired of this shit.

Honestly.

RIP, beloved Miss Dolly

You were relentlessly kind and jolly

Why are the good often gone

While the shitty stay on

That's the way of the world, but golly

HI2thDoc's avatar

Dolly Parton was a shining example

Of how not to use faith to trample

Or be oppressive and dominant

Over others less prominent

Her compassion and tolerance were ample

Stephen Brady's avatar

He did a rally for too-big-for-her-brain Darline Graham Nordone yesterday where he begged the audience to ‘vote like I’m on the ballot’… Later it was announced that he would spend $400 million from his bloated super PAC to tRumpet his accomplishments as a reason to Vote for MAGA candidates. This from the imbecile whose accomplishments always seem to benefit the oligarchs and harm everyone else. By the way, I’m really bummed that we lost Dolly!

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

That's great! I'm so happy he's going to spend his $400 million to help elect Democrats! *His"strong approval" is down to 17% while his "strong disapproval" stands at 49%)

HI2thDoc's avatar

Darline Graham Nordone, who suddenly stopped using her married name in order to exploit the family connection knows nothing about international relations but wants to address men in women's sports. Only in a MAGA state is this seen as a qualification. I donated to Annie Andrews.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Did Trump say anything about Dolly's death?

HI2thDoc's avatar

Prolly it was his Harp LARP

Tess's avatar

Took the words right out of my mouth Wendy…well…your words are much better actually…..!

HI2thDoc's avatar

Honestly, I thought the 750 billion was MAGA math, not your mistake

Stephen Brady's avatar

We figured it out, because not everyone has a pack of rabid squirrels chewing the wires in our heads.

Nancie's avatar

I'd rather see a few errors than wait until dinnertime to see your post!!

Cheri Collins's avatar

🤣😂🤣 I called him Doug Jones, too, but only verbally, and to a Canadian, no less! Like you, I was understood, though. We all make mistakes, Jeff. Rock on!

Brett Beiner's avatar

I thought there was an extra three zeros on that number, but I just kept reading.

You brighten my day, every single day.

Thank you, Jeff!

TBM's avatar

Speaking of Doug Jones: The fact that Doug Jones isn’t leading Coarch Tubs by 50 points is such an indictment of my home state. Of course the fact I moved from the Alabama Republic to the Free State of Florida is an indictment of me. But then again it was 1992 and the Ole He-Coon himself Walkin’ Lawton was governator of Florida. But still. Florida Man was a thing even then.

Bonnie Council's avatar

An indictment indeed. My siblings and I grew up there, one sister still lives there, in the tiny blue pocket of Birmingham, and has renamed it to Ala-f'ing-bama. Which is the only name that fits.

That second picture by Katie is my favorite among all you have yet posted. I hope it's your phone background. It's perfect.

Diana Hembree's avatar

It's such a beautiful photo!

Joyce's avatar

Amen! But I'm rather fond of the No Heads photo, as it reminds me of my grandmother, who, unlike Katie, never learned the fine art of not decapitating all family members and friends.

2Cats2Furious's avatar

1. Dolly Parton was a huge success, but more importantly she was a humanitarian. Rest in peace fair lady.

2. The rest of the clowns in this piece can go fuck themselves.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

She was also a truly good person who treated others well. When she did a meet-and-greet at a show she didn't just drop in for five minutes, wave and exit. She stayed for an hour or whatever it took until everyone had the chance to talk with her and take a picture. At her shows, she would tell the audience that she was going to take 15 minutes to cool down and primp afterwards and then she would be at a table in the lobby signing things. Who did that in the superstar-driven 80s? No one else.

Steve in SoCal's avatar

Equal parts humanitarian and businesswoman. She knew how to make money and loved doing it.

Joyce's avatar

Even better, she loved sharing that money in ways that benefited her fellow citizens.

Steve in SoCal's avatar

Yep, that's the humanitarian part

Richard's avatar

I agree with you 100%!

arne link's avatar

Reading Obama's tribute to Dolly made me tear up. We once had a REAL president, one who didn't embarrass us at every turn. One that didn't kill Americans and other hard-working people in the street. May the good Lord grant us another good president, and soon.

Hey now, you can't put this all on Burnett. Trump got a huge assist from McConnell ,who would rather watch the country burn than let a black man have any say in running it. We wouldn't have the traitorous six without him. And then there is the NYTimes whose love of authoritarianism and hatred of Clinton were such a big help in Trump's first race. And Musk and all the other billionaire who propped up Trump in his in second. Don't forget them. But yeah, Trump would still be a joke, wondering around the fringes of NY high society without Burnett.

Jeff Tiedrich's avatar

I don't think Burnett had a master plan to make Donny president, but this is started with him

Stranger Than Friction's avatar

It was a major assist, that's for damned sure.

P123Sunny's avatar

Following DavidPecker’s mentorship, of course

devourerofpancakes's avatar

Burnett did stay quiet though throughout all of Trump's campaigns. You know what? I am going back to blaming Burnett. He could have tanked Trump's chances with a couple of outtakes.

HI2thDoc's avatar

I still blame Burnett for boosting his image. But of course, the shallowness, stupidity, and obsession with celebrity here in America are also to blame. McConnell for sure.

Bonnie Council's avatar

I also blame the media. If only they hadn't kept sticking a mic in front of his ugly mug after he first rode down that escalator, MAGAts would never have evolved. They'd likely never even heard of him before. And of course trump just ate up all that attention and whored for more, more, more. So yeah, I blame the media.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Yep. They gave him more free advertising than a candidate could ever dream of. And they're still doing it.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

Without the farcical faux-reality show persona, Trump would just have been Epstein's bitch.

HI2thDoc's avatar

He is anyhow. And desperately trying to hide it

SethTriggs's avatar

It's no surprise that America's Pilonidal Cyst, the biggest forced meme that has ever existed, is in completely over his head. Everything is his game show/wrestling persona. That's how you end up starting a trade war with your closest friend and ally. It's just like suckerpunching your BFF while you're playing video games on a sleepover.

Being such a flagrant jerkass that you get Doug Ford of all people dunking on you should be a shame.

By the way, love Rep. Dingell coming off the top rope in that post. Sometimes the dunks are very small comfort I suppose.

We have a lot of work to do this fall. Turning the unreconstructed party that does everything for APC out of power is job one!

2Cats2Furious's avatar

Rep. Dingell’s response was *chef’s kiss.*

Marlys Williams's avatar

Jeff, Katie’s second photo is genuinely the sweetest. Good people who care about each other. World could use more of that!

So Poundfoolish the Dancing Clown thinks Carney is a "governor"? Why doesn't that fat fuck declare war on carbs? As for Dolly, maybe the sacrifice of a pure at heart woman will open the portal and get us out of this shittiest of all timelines.

Rumors of shit going down persist in the Baltic, in connection with the CIA director's flight to Moscow. Some pundit was helpfully explaining that the last time a CIA director came to talk to Putin, it was right before he invaded Ukraine. ("Ah, no, man, I wouldn't invade Ukraine, heh, that would be crazy. Naw, I'm going to chill here and count my money, you can fuck back off to Washington now.") So whether Putin thinks this is his chance to make Latvia Russian again, or whether he'll act in concert with Xi who'll be helping himself to Taiwan, I guess Kegsbreath will organize a prayer circle to ask God why he's gifting His favorite country with all this impotence and humiliation.

Mr Mild - BlueVotingBastard💙's avatar

I don’t remember the details, but I do remember a Bush Sr diplomat meeting with Saddam Hussein, where he asked what the US response would be if Iraq invaded Kuwait. IIRC, her response was along the lines of, Go ahead.

Maybe someone can find the details.

Mary Greenwald's avatar

Hegseth's prayer circle will be led by Ratcliffe as he is a "minister of faith" for the Christofascists.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

Jeff - have you seen the debate Abdul el Sayed did with Jesse Watters on Fox? It's a hoot. Every little bit of Jessie's ignorance on full display - Abdul laughed at him all the way through.

We need to be worried about the generals being purged from the Army. Baron Von Shitzhispants and his butt licking secretary of defense, oops my bad, war, must be replacing them with maga aligned soldiers. That does not bode well for when the time comes and I believe it will, when the order is given to take to the streets of America to keep Epstein's best pal in power.

No, actually, the issue is that the posts aren't getting filled at all.

Failed economic policies (no surprise there based upon his bankruptcies, fraud, money laundering, and tax avoidance).

His idiotic war/not war with Iran.

His idolization of brutal dictators.

The Epstein-Trump-Maxwell human trafficking and abuse files cover up.

His weakening of the United States.

The $40 trillion of national debt.

His blatant klepto, I mean crypto corruption.

His complete incompetence.

The cowardice of the entire GOP-led Congress to hold him accountable for any of his destruction.
