249 years ago, a bunch of privileged rich white males who didn’t want to pay taxes founded America on a great set of ideals — freedom, equality and justice — and then went about implementing those ideals in the most fucked up way possible.
249 years later, we’re still fighting what often seems like a losing battle to guarantee everyone a share of freedom, equality and justice.
it’s exhausting, yet the struggle goes on.
never lose hope.
today, let’s rest. tomorrow, the fight continues.
here’s to you on this July 4th, America, you great big beautiful fucked up country.
here’s your daily reminder that I can be found on Blue Sky at this link.
this is going to be my closing message for the foreseeable future:
practice self-care. do what you need to do to keep sane. if that means you need to disengage with my daily posts for a while, I get it. this community of ours will still be here when you return.
to all the people who have signed on in the days since the election, welcome aboard. settle in as we all try to deal with the shitfuckery that’s ahead of us.
we are all in this together, and we are all here for each other.

Thank you Jeff.
“Let them hate us as long as they fear us.” has been failed U.S. Foreign Policy for generations.
I never expected it to also become our official domestic policy too.
